TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – The Istanbul Youth Summit (IYS) 2025 once again presented an inspiring Youth Panel featuring two outstanding speakers, Dharmaji Suradika and Basma Lubbad. Centered around the theme of sustainable leadership and finding one's purpose, this session provided valuable insights for young individuals striving to build a better future.

Dharmaji Suradika, the founder of various communities such as @talentics, @wikiexport, @learnalways.id, @pemimpin.indonesia, @kawanpintar.id, and @okr.id, delivered a session titled The Hero’s Journey: Building a Leadership Ecosystem

He emphasized the importance of creating a sustainable leadership ecosystem through a collaborative approach. By applying the hero’s journey concept, he encouraged young people to identify their core motivations in building meaningful social movements.

“The more serious we are about driving change, the more support we need to strengthen that vision,” he stated. Dharmaji also highlighted the crucial role of mentors, communities, and innovative approaches such as social entrepreneurship in creating lasting impacts.

Meanwhile, Basma Lubbad, an expert in psychology and leadership. She explained how discovering and nurturing one’s life purpose could significantly enhance mental well-being and strengthen leadership abilities. She also encouraged participants to engage in deep self-reflection using the Five Whys method to uncover their true passions.

The event was met with great enthusiasm from participants worldwide, who engaged in interactive discussions and shared experiences and challenges in developing social and leadership projects.

As part of IYS 2025, 17 participating groups signed the Integrity Pact, reaffirming their commitment to sustainability principles. This pact includes a pledge to uphold the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ensure environmental conservation.

The Integrity Pact signed by these 17 groups includes the following commitments:

1. Maintaining a balance between development and environmental sustainability.

2. Reducing carbon footprints in all aspects of daily life.

3. Educating communities on the importance of sustainability.

4. Promoting the use of renewable energy sources.

5. Ensuring access to clean water for all.

6. Reducing the use of single-use plastics.

7. Planting more trees to improve air quality.

8. Supporting innovations focused on sustainability.

9. Raising awareness about the importance of a circular economy.

10. Engaging in social projects with environmental orientations.

11. Implementing eco-friendly business practices.

12. Advocating for policies that support sustainability.

13. Involving communities in environmental action initiatives.

14. Building networks with pro-environment organizations.

15. Committing to efficient use of natural resources.

16. Preserving marine and aquatic ecosystems.

17. Promoting sustainability in education.

With a spirit of collaboration and innovation, the Istanbul Youth Summit 2025 is not just a platform for knowledge-sharing but also a space for young leaders to grow, network, and drive tangible change for a better world. (*)
