TIMESINDONESIA, BONDOWOSO – Tucked away in the peaceful highlands of Sumber Wringin, Bondowoso, East Java, Teduh Glamping has gained attention not just for its beautiful scenery and eco-friendly camping experience but for the mysterious legends.
The legends lays in the water that surround its natural spring, known locally as Air Teduh. This spring is believed by locals to have mystical properties that grant youthfulness and vitality to anyone who bathes in its clear, cool waters.

The story dates back to the era of Damar Wulan, a legendary Javanese figure. According to folklore, Damar Wulan himself once bathed in this very spring, and his youth and strength were said to be preserved by its magical waters.
This tale has become a cherished part of local oral tradition, passed down through generations. Today, many visitors travel long distances just to take a dip in the sendang (spring), hoping to capture some of the rejuvenating energy it is believed to offer.
But beyond the myth, Teduh Glamping also offers a unique escape into nature. The site is surrounded by tall bamboo groves, lush trees, and a gentle flowing river.
The atmosphere is calm and quiet, perfect for those seeking peace and relaxation. Unlike traditional hotels, Teduh Glamping features small tent-like cabins that blend into the landscape, providing comfort without disturbing the environment.
Guests can enjoy traditional village foods, fresh air, and hot drinks made from locally grown Arabica and Robusta coffee beans—harvested from the nearby Ijen-Raung highlands. At night, the temperature can drop quite low, offering a rare and refreshing chill that’s hard to find in most parts of Indonesia.
The mystical spring has become a major attraction, especially during holidays. According to Hendri, the head of the local Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), the number of visitors can double during peak seasons like the Eid holidays, with up to 300 people visiting daily.
Many come not only for the natural beauty but also to try bathing in the spring, inspired by stories of its anti-aging magic.
Teduh Glamping in Sumber Wringin, Bondowoso, East Java, offers an affordable escape into nature. The entrance fee is Rp3,000 per person, with free admission for children.

These options make Teduh Glamping an accessible destination for both day-trippers and overnight campers.
Whether or not you believe in the legend, Teduh Glamping offers something truly special: a connection to nature, a taste of local culture, and a chance to slow down and appreciate the mystical beauty that Indonesia has to offer. (*)
