Global Business Education

Betty Chung, Academic Director of the Global MBA at Korea University Business School, discussed how modern business education is evolving to meet the demands of an increasingly complex global workforce.

According to Chung, business education today must go beyond management theory. It should also cultivate leadership, social empathy, and the ability to collaborate across cultures.

She introduced the Global MBA Track, an intensive one-year program conducted entirely in English. The program combines core academic courses with practical experience through Business Practicum projects involving real companies.

Through this applied learning approach, students engage directly with real-world business challenges while developing the skills needed for international careers.

A Global Career Journey from Indonesia

Another session featured Syifa Utari, an Indonesian professional who has built her career in South Korea for more than seven years.

During the discussion, Syifa shared the realities of working in South Korea. While the country is known for its advanced technology and dynamic economy, she explained that professionals often face long working hours, strong hierarchical structures, and intense competition.

Understanding the Two Koreas

Meanwhile, the session titled Beyond the Border featured Kim Kang Woo, who shared his personal journey growing up in North Korea before continuing his education in South Korea.

Kim is currently a Political Science and International Relations student at Kookmin University. He also serves as President of the Freedom Club at the university and Director of the Envision Foundation.

In his presentation, he explained the differences between North and South Korea in terms of political systems, economic structures, and social life. He also highlighted humanitarian challenges in North Korea, including limited access to information, healthcare constraints, and food shortages in certain regions.

Through these discussions, Korea Youth Summit 2026 provided valuable global perspectives for young participants while encouraging dialogue, empathy, and collaboration among future leaders from different parts of the world. (*)
