MAKKAH Marjiyono Karto Sentono, a 103-year-old pilgrim from Bantul, Yogyakarta, has become one of the most inspiring figures of Hajj 2026. The old guy successfully fulfilling his lifelong dream of visiting the Prophet Muhammad’s Mosque in Madinah.

For this he is names as Indonesia’s oldest pilgrim this year. Marjiyono’s journey stands as a symbol of unwavering faith, perseverance, and spiritual devotion.

For decades, Marjiyono patiently waited for the opportunity to perform Hajj. Despite his age, his determination remained strong as he embarked on the sacred pilgrimage with the Indonesian Hajj delegation.

Assisted by Hajj officers who provided special care throughout his journey, Marjiyono arrived in Saudi Arabia with one heartfelt goal—to visit Raudhah at Masjid Nabawi.

His dream was finally realized when he entered the sacred area near the Prophet Muhammad’s resting place. Overcome with emotion and gratitude. “Praise be to Allah, I am very happy to finally visit the Prophet," he said (5/5/2026). 

Marjiyono’s pilgrimage was not only a physical journey but also the culmination of years of sacrifice, preparation, and prayer.
