MALANG – Hotel Tugu Malang once again presents a meaningful cultural celebration through the 64th edition of its Indonesia Cultural Dining Series, featuring “Grebeg Rampag Barong,” an energetic performance showcasing the harmonious movements of Barong dancers in synchronized choreography, accompanied by powerful rhythmic beats. More than just a performance, this presentation symbolizes strength, protection, and unity deeply rooted in the traditions of East Java. The evening will be filled with captivating cultural nuances, blended beautifully with the warm hospitality that defines Hotel Tugu Malang.
The Barong tradition itself has long been an important part of Indonesia’s cultural heritage, particularly in East Java and Bali, representing protective forces that ward off negative energy. In its Rampag or synchronized form, the dance evolves into a grand collective performance that reflects togetherness and harmony. This edition of Grebeg Rampag Barong is inspired by the spirit of traditional folk celebrations, where performing arts become a medium to preserve cultural values while strengthening connections across generations.
“We want to create an experience that is not only visually captivating, but also emotionally meaningful — a moment where guests can truly feel the pulse of authentic culture while understanding the meaning behind every movement and rhythm. Grebeg Rampag Barong is a celebration of strength and unity, values that we continuously uphold in every experience we present at Hotel Tugu Malang,” said Budi Sesario, Media Relation of Hotel Tugu Malang.
To complement the cultural experience, guests will also be indulged with a selection of signature dishes inspired by the rich flavors of Southeast Asia, served with the artistic touch that has become the hallmark of Hotel Tugu Malang. Within the intimate and character-filled garden setting, every element — from culinary presentations to artistic performances — is carefully curated into a complete journey, creating an evening meant not only to be enjoyed, but also to be felt and remembered.
In the warm ambiance of SaigonSan Garden, Café by Kawisari, on 14 May 2026 at 7.30 PM, guests are invited to enjoy an enchanting evening with no admission fee. Where every rhythm and movement tells a story, making the night feel even more alive and memorable.
