MADINAH During the hectic arrival process of Hajj 2026, Indonesian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia are being protected by a dedicated Lost and Found task force. They are working around the clock to recover misplaced valuables.

The lost and found items varied from passports and Nusuk cards to mobile phones and luggage. Airport officers from Indonesia’s Daerah Kerja (Daker) Bandara are actively sweeping key arrival points to secure forgotten belongings before they are permanently lost.

Abdul Basir, Head of Airport Daker, explained that this system was created internally due to the growing number of missing-item reports.

The officers routinely patrol X-ray checkpoints, waiting rooms, buses, aircraft cabins, and baggage collection zones. According to Basir, the most commonly forgotten items are mobile phones. “Right now, the most common lost item is mobile phones" he stated.

When an item is found, officers document it through an official handover process and coordinate with Daker Madinah or Jeddah to ensure it is returned directly to the pilgrim’s hotel.

This system has already secured hundreds of scattered belongings, significantly reducing the risk of permanent losses for Indonesian pilgrims.

Officials also emphasized preventive measures, urging pilgrims to keep important documents attached to their bodies at all times. Abdul Rahim Rahmat from the protection division warned, "Important documents must stay attached to your body; do not entrust them to others," he said (14/5/2026).

For Hajj 2026 pilgrims, this means losing an item does not automatically mean losing it forever. Thanks to Indonesia’s rapid-response airport protection teams, there is now a structured recovery system designed to safeguard pilgrims’ valuables and return them quickly, offering peace of mind during one of the world’s largest religious journeys.
