Top Gun Maverick dan Everything Everywhere All At Once Bersaing di Oscar 2023

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Top Gun Maverick dan Everything Everywhere All At Once bersaing sebagai film terbaik di Oscar 2023. 

Selain kedua film itu, beberapa judul lain juga mengincar Oscar di kategori film terbaik, yaitu Avatar: The Way of Water, All Queit on the Western Front dan The Banshees of Iniserin.

Top Gun Maverick merupakan sekuel dari film legendaris Top Gun yang tayang pada 1986. Masih dibintangi oleh Tom Cruise, film ini yang mengisahkan misi berbahaya bagi penerbang andal di Angkatan laut Amerika.

Sementara Everything Everywhere All At Once merupakan film aksi petualangan yang bercerita tentang imigran Tiongkok menjelajahi alam semesta lain namun terhubung dengan kehidupan yang bisa dia jalani. Film fiksi ilmiah ini dibintangi oleh Michelle Yeoh yang baru saja meraih Golden Globe. Kini ia juga masuk nominasi artis terbaik di Oscar. 

Academy Awards ke-19 akan dilaksanakan di Dolby Theatre di Ovation Hollywood, AS pada 12 Maret 2023 mendatang. Sedangkan Jimmy Kimmerl masih dipercaya menjadi pembawa acar Oscar. Ini kali ketiganya ia mmbawakan acara Oscar, sebelumnya pada 2017 dan 2018 lalu.
