Dakon Competition, Philosophistic Toys Forming Characteristic Form, Held In History Of Java Museum

TIMESINDONESIA, YOGYAKARTA – style="text-align:justify">Nowadays, the world of Indonesian children is threatened by the presence of gadget games which is do not provide space for many things that should be done and experienced. Many children now tend to remain in their room just to play electronic games which often close the child's communal space.
The content of these latest games, is often charged with negative value that is actually inappropriate for children. Without the inherent supervision, of course, these games become harmful for childhood growth and development phase that will influence their adulthood.

Why dakon?

In this game Dakon teach children always be open, be honest, empathize and become a reliable strategist with the right calculation.

Dakon is 7 paired holes with the ends of each large hole as a granary, inside each paired hole is placed seeds of kecik or beans amounting to 7 points, each participant will run his kecik seeds, where each hole in the opposite will be fill by one kecik.
If the last kecik reaches the barn, the player still have the right to continue the game , if the last kecik falls into the opponent's hole then the opponent player have the right to continue the game, if the last kecik seed falls in the empty hole on his side, then all the kecik on the opponent's side that are paired with the empty hole belong to the empty hole player and the opponent player have the right to continue the game. The game is play by rotating started from from left to right.
In line with Ki Bambang, Elly Halsamer, CEO of Marcomm D'Tengeng Kingdom Group which is the holding company of the History of Java Museum also praised the dakon as a game that full of good symbols.
" In Java the use of kecik as game seeds is a symbol of becik or good, while the number of 7 holes of the game in Javanese means pitu is a symbol of pitulungan, or help," said Elly firmly.
In addition to the philosophical functions instilled in children, theoretically Elly also highlights the comprehensive psychological training development efforts is found in the Dakon game.
"Dakon will train children affectively, cognitively as well as motor skills that have important functions in children development as a provision for their future life," said Elly further.
According to the plan the dakon competition will be held by the History of Java museum on November 16-17 2019 and November 23-24 2019. This event will become the beginning of various traditional toy events that will be held by the History of Java Museum.
"The number of participants who have registered themselves around 2200 persons in the general category and wll be entertained by 1120 persons fir dancing, singing, playing Angklung and Marching Band parade", said Ki Bambang further.
"The opening will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 and will also be filled with performers on the Little Malioboro Street Food HoJ stage," continued Elly.
In addition to holding a Dakon competition, the History of Java Museum also holds a children's toy festival and tempo doeloe food bazaar at Little Malioboro Street Food HoJ, visitors are free to enter the venue through the food street entrance without having to buy tickets to enter the museum.
"For the event venue we are free, while those who is interested in educating their families can also entering the Museum by paying for the tickets," explained Ki Bambang Widodo.
"We hope that all society levels in Yogyakarta can attend and enliven the atmosphere as a support for the preservation of traditional toys and also traditional food," hopes Elly sincerely.
Elly also revealed that one of the performers on the venue's tradition was SLB ABCD Tunas Kasih Donoharjo Ngaglik Sleman student. This is indeed an inclusiveness commitment that is implemented by D’Topeng Kingdom Group for all companies under it.
