Syngenta Indonesia Supports Rice Self-Sufficiency by Launching MIRAVIS Duo for Rice

JAKARTA – Syngenta Indonesia officially launched MIRAVIS Duo® for rice, a breakthrough fungicide powered by ADEPIDYN™ technology, in Cilacap, Central Java, on 4 June. This milestone marks a significant achievement, as Indonesia becomes the first country in the world to introduce ADEPIDYN™ technology specifically for rice cultivation.

MIRAVIS Duo® is designed to meet farmers’ need for a reliable disease-control solution that provides strong and consistent protection, while helping crops remain healthier, greener and cleaner—ultimately supporting higher yields. Powered by ADEPIDYN™ technology, MIRAVIS Duo® enhances plant health and delivers effective disease protection even under increasingly unpredictable weather conditions. The technology is also recognized for its excellent rain fastness, offering protection for up to 14 days after application.

The launch also received support from the local government, as it aligns with efforts to boost productivity and strengthen rice cultivation at the farm level. “We welcome crop protection innovations that can help farmers manage disease risks, especially as weather becomes increasingly difficult to predict. We hope technologies like this will be adopted wisely in accordance with recommendations, so that rice productivity and harvest quality in Cilacap can continue to improve,” said Sigit Widayanto, Head of the Cilacap Regency Agriculture Office.

Cilacap Regency is recognized as one of the major rice production centers in Java and Indonesia, with an estimated output of 855,042 tons of milled dry paddy. In 2025, Cilacap also recorded a positive achievement, with a rice surplus of more than 321 thousand tons. This reinforces Cilacap’s role as a key food granary whose consistency must be safeguarded through various efforts, including the adoption of appropriate agricultural technologies.

MIRAVIS Duo® offers three key features that differentiate it for farmers. First, healthy glowing panicles. MIRAVIS Duo® is rapidly absorbed and evenly distributed throughout the plant within six (6) hours, ensuring disease protection for up to 14 days even under unpredictable weather conditions. This results in healthier glowing panicles that reflect improved grain quality. Second, greener and cleaner flag leaf. By keeping flag leaves greener and cleaner, MIRAVIS Duo® enhance the plant’s ability to capture sunlight and use water more efficiently, supporting optimal photosynthesis and overall plant vitality. Third, high production. With stronger disease protection and healthier crops, MIRAVIS Duo® helps farmers achieve higher productivity, delivering abundant harvests with healthy glowing panicle.

Approximately 500 farmers attended the launch event and witnessed the benefits of MIRAVIS Duo® first-hand through demonstration plots. Several farmers also received product introductions and tested its effectiveness in their own fields.

“Last season, my rice plants were wilted, dull, and not clean, which reduced both grain quality and yield. This season I tried MIRAVIS Duo® at 55 days after planting at a rate of 300 ml per hectare. After application, I saw the difference: healthy glowing panicles, greener and cleaner flag leaf, and my yield increased compared with the previous season,” said Musodik, a rice farmer from Cilacap.

Following its launch in Cilacap, MIRAVIS Duo® for rice will soon be introduced in several other rice-producing regions across Indonesia, further supporting national food security and rice self-sufficiency. (*)
