TIMESINDONESIA, PROBOLINGGO – If you bored of the way you have your staple food served, then you could try this Tengger community of Bromo way in serving their food. This food is so called as Nasi Aron.

Nasi aron or aron rice is a common staple food which consume by the local community of Tengger. This food is made of milled corn which made in cubes and then steamed for a while. The local community will add some pandan leaves and salt during the process.

It taste savoury and has nice smell. The local community usually will serve this dish with several side dishes such as salted fish and sweet and sour vegetable soup. Some sambal will also accompany the dishes which make the taste kick in your mouth.

Some people will also add some egg or chicken, or meat on top of the nasi (rice). It fit to any condiment you have. And it’s very suitable to be served on any occasion.

Beside nasi aron or aron rice, Tengger Bromo also has hundreds local delicacy that you need to try. Most of the ingredients are taken from the local farm which make the taste of the food not far away from those Michelin restaurants. (*)
