TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – The issue of Xinjiang Muslims in China is in the spotlight of the world's Muslims, including Muslims in Indonesia. However, this problem can't be underestimated, and must be seen as a whole as an internal matter of China.

The Religious Advisory Board Chief (Rois Syuriah) PCINU in China, Imron Rosyadi Hamid said that the Xinjiang issue can’t be connected to anti-Islamic policies. All that the Chinese authorities do is an action to prevent the separatist movement. Even if there are allegations of human rights violations, it must still be categorized as the incorrect action in solving the issue of separatism.

"It isn't at the conclusion that the Chinese Government is anti-Islam," Imron told to Times Indonesia.

Imron claimed to have followed viral news about Muslim issues in Xinjiang. The news must be seen in its entirety as an internal matter of the Chinese state. He also said that Indonesia also has a dark history in terms of handling separatist movements such as the policy of Military Operations Area (DOM) in Aceh, but the international world still sees the issue as an Indonesian domestic problem.

"People also need to know that the Chinese constitution guarantees religious freedom including Islam. Muslim life in China, outside Xinjiang, as far as I know is going well even the Chinese government also builds facilities for Muslim interest," he explained.

He said that the facilities built by the Chinese government for Xinjiang Muslims include Hui Culture Park worth $ 3.7 billion. The facility was also ever visited by the General Chair of NU Executive Board (PBNU) and the NU people. They also visited various Islamic sites in China, including Islamic Boarding Schools.

"In the Chinese National Action Plan relating to the implementation of human rights in 2016-2020 there is also a paragraph on the improvement of Hajj services," Imron said.

Furthermore, Indonesia's foreign policy since the era of Gus Dur, Megawati, SBY and Jokowi placed China as an important and strategic partner. Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto while visiting the 69th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of China in Jakarta also wanted to maintain their good relations, so that the issue of Xinjiang Muslims should be given to the government.
