Giant Umbrella in Haram Mosque hasn’t been Installed This Year

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – News about the functioning of a giant umbrella in the Holy Land Mecca at Hajj 2018, which was circulated in some social media certainly not true or hoax.

"Today there is hoax news that Haram Mosque is installing umbrellas like Nabawi. But, in the Haram Mosque has not happened anything like that happened in the news before," said Head of Organizing Committee of Hajj (PPIH) Daker Mekah Endang Jumali in Syisyah in Mecca on Monday ( 30/7/2018) as reported by detik.com.
Actually, the installation of a giant umbrella in the Holy Land of Mecca has already planned by the government of Saudi Arabia since 2016 ago.
News plan of the construction of a giant umbrella and its video (similar to that circulated in social media in Indonesia) had been viral also in Saudi Arabia August 2017 last year.
"Giant umbrellas are capable of mechanical moves will be installed in the yard and upstairs of the Haram Mosque in Mecca next year to protect pilgrims from the heat of the sun," said the commander of the Haram Mosque's security forces in Mecca, Major General Muhammad Al-Ahmadi in the end of August 2017 as reported by Arabnews.
At that time, a giant umbrella that is a part of a major project of Haram Mosque's expansion is expected to be completed by 2018. The initial design of the project is targeted the Haram Mosque to 400,000 square meters and can accommodate 2.2 million pilgrims.
