TIMESINDONESIA, MADIUNBanana puff pastry or well-known with bolen pisang by the local community is one Indonesian local delicacy that makes you crave for more. As its name, it’s a puff pastry filled with banana with tremendous taste that will melt your mouth and hook you up.

This pastry has been well known by Indonesian. Bandung, West Java is the place where you could easily found this food. You could also find it in some other city in the country. The local bakery or the nearest conventional market are also the place where you could find this food.

Dyan Hira Kuncahyowati a local community of Magetan has been making bolen pisang as her business since 2017. She made her house which located at Jalan Ploso, Oro Oro Ombo, Kartoharjo, Madiun, East Java as her workshop.

“I was working in Bandung back then. But then after I went back to this city (Madiun) I could hardly found this snack for my pleasure. There then, I decided to make it on my own,” Dyan said.

Dyan has 5 variants of flavor for his bolen pisang. She has chocolate, cheese, caramel, mocha, pineapple, tape and durian. A set of bolen pisang of 10-12 pieces will cost around IDR 35 K.

Bolen pisang or banana puff pastry by Dyan could last for 5 days without preservatives. For now, she only makes it by order. Her customers not only coming from around the area but also some neighborhood cities such as Surabaya, Tangerang, Purwokerto and Semarang.(*)
