• 1 cup #1 grade fine bread crumbs
• 1 pound ground beef
• ½ small onion, minced
• salt
• ½ teaspoon black pepper
• About ½ cup water
Soup:
• 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
• 1 small onion, chopped
• 6 cups water
• 6 tbs tomato sauce or ground peeled tomatoes
• chicken broth or beef broth (an equivalent amount of water)
• 3 tbs salt
• 1 teaspoon paprika
• ½ teaspoon black pepper
• ½ carrots, diced
• ½ potato, diced
Instructions
Meatballs:
• Fill a small bowl with some water and place next to the mixing bowl.
• Add the bread crumbs, beef, onion, salt, and pepper to the bowl and mix it evenly.
• Keep adding the water a will mixing until it becomes cohesive and firm (you may need to wet your hands with the water in the bowl as you mix).
• Constantly wetting your hands, make little meatballs by rolling small bits of the mixture between your palms. Set them aside.
Soup:
• In a pot over medium-high heat, melt the butter, add the onion, and sauté until softened or translucent.
• Add the water, tomato sauce, broth, salt, pepper, and paprika, raise the heat to high, and bring into a boil.
• Add the carrots and potatoes. Bring into a boil.
• Drop the meatball, let it simmer for 10 or 15 minutes with medium heat until they plump up.
• Adjust the taste and your Sulu Kofte of Turkey is ready to be served.
