Kimchi, A Korean Food that Made from Fermentation Cabbage

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – At these days, South Korean Culture has invested the local community. Everything about South Korean seems will become something viral. Including their dish. There’s one dish from South Korea that is pretty much a healthy food named Kimchi.
Kimchi is the dish that made from fermented vegetables which was mixed with some specified spices. Commonly, this dish will be prepared manually with hand. The taste will be slightly different from one house to another for each house in South Korea has their very own granny recipe.

Commonly, Kimchi will use white cabbage, lettuce and radish as their main ingredients. Some chili paste, ground garlic, ginger, salt and sugar will be added during the process. We have some easy way to follow to make a good Kimchi.
Kimchi can be made easily at home by preparing some ingredients. Make sure you have at least 900 grams of cabbage, 30 grams of salt, 1 tablespoon of grated garlic, ginger and sugar. Another 2 tablespoons of fish sauce, 1 to 5 tablespoons of Korean cayenne pepper flakes, 225 grams of sliced Korean radish and 4 chopped spring onions.
Mix the all the ingredients except the white cabbage and radish in one bowl. Prepare the cabbage and radish, wash them thoroughly. Once they ready, put the mixture of ingredients on the cabbage layer by layer. If you use some lettuce do the same with the lettuce. Put the radish at the very least.
After all done, cover the lid with some cloth and let it sit and fermented for at least 5 days ahead. And your Kimchi will be ready to serve. So, will you try this recipe at home?
