According to Gus Yahya, the current level of humanity cannot achieve and depend on their own deeds, as quoted from his teacher, KH Maimoen Zubair. Therefore, he continued, the maqam (level) of humanity today is tabaruk, which is to take blessings from great scholars. So, everything is greater than just an award.
However, the event was referred to as the 1 Abad NU Award Night because it was difficult to find another title besides an award. Gus Yahya stated that PBNU should not actually give an award, but hoped that all NU members could receive blessings from the founders and NU scholars.
Meanwhile, the Head of the 1 Abad NU Executive Committee, Yenny Wahid, stated that NU always strives to maintain the teachings of Aswaja, which come from the Qur'an, Hadith, Ijmak, and Qiyas. The establishment of NU is an answer to various religious problems and an effort to improve human life. Especially in response to national problems in the country.
The Head of the 1 Abad NU Director Committee, Erick Thohir, added that NU's award at the age of 1 Abad always upholds diversity and differences. NU becomes the strength of Islam and the nation, and is also based on Islamic teachings. The moment of 1 Abad NU is also a momentum to always work together and collaborate to advance common interests.
