Export School by PPI Dunia: Empowering Indonesian Students in International Trade

TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan has expressed full support for the establishment of the Export School by the Indonesian Student Association (PPI Dunia). He hopes that this school will play an active role in boosting Indonesia's economy.

Zulkifli Hasan also participate in the grand opening of the Export School while attending the 38th Trade Expo Indonesia from October 18 to 22, 2023. The event took place at Hall Nusantara 1A Indonesian Convention Exhibition (ICE) in BSD City, Serpong.

The occasion also included a seminar and international lecture titled "Export Excellence: CAMPUS GO EXPORT," attended by several students and leading economists in Indonesia.

During the occaasion, Radya Mahardika, Director of Business Innovation Development at PPI Dunia, explained that the Export School would offer various programs to enhance the economic competence of Indonesian students abroad. This particularly in the field of exporting Indonesian products.

Meanwhile, Siswo Pramono, the Indonesian Ambassador to Australia, who also attended the event online, emphasized the importance of both theoretical and practical understanding of international trade for Indonesian students abroad. In addition to theory, students need to develop the ability to read international market opportunities.

On the same occasion, Miftah Farid, Director of Export Development for Services and Creative Products at the Ministry of Trade, saw significant opportunities for PPI Dunia to promote Indonesian service products in the international market.

"Especially in areas such as game development, cartoon animation, or film production. With this step, Indonesia can establish itself as a competitive global producer," he stated.

Indonesian students studying abroad who are interested in exporting Indonesian products to their host countries can contact Indonesian trade representatives, including Trade Attachés and Indonesia Trade Promotion Centers (ITPC), for administrative support related to exports.

Andri Satria Permana, Head of ITPC Vancouver, shared the success of Indonesian students in Canada in building collaborations and relationships with the local community, making Indonesian products more recognized in Canada.

Iwan Wibisono, President of IDN Global, shared an inspirational story about Rizki, an Indonesian student in Japan who successfully sent Indonesian products to Europe. Iwan hopes that this story will motivate other Indonesian students to actively engage in exporting Indonesian products to international markets.

The Export School by PPI Dunia provides an ideal platform for Indonesian students to understand the world of international trade, build relationships in various international market regulations, and become successful exporters.

Last but not least, Djauhari Oratmangun, the Indonesian Ambassador to China, expressed his appreciation to PPI Dunia for their collaboration in establishing the Export School. He hopes that this initiative will help produce students who actively contribute to exporting Indonesian products worldwide. (*)
