TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk has announced a 20% toll tariff discount for the Trans Java Toll Road from Jakarta to Semarang, Central Java, and vice versa during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period in 1445 H/2024.
The 20% toll tariff discount applies to toll roads managed by the Jasa Marga Group, including the integration of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road and the MBZ Elevated Toll Road, the Palimanan-Kanci Toll Road, the Batang-Semarang Toll Road, and the Semarang Toll Road Sections ABC.

Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head of Jasa Marga, Lisye Octaviana, explained in Jakarta on Monday that the toll tariff discount for all vehicle categories aims to maximize traffic distribution and avoid congestion on predicted peak days of Eid al-Fitr travel.
She also stated that the implementation of this toll tariff discount is a form of maximum service from Jasa Marga in accordance with the principles of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) and hopes to benefit the community.
Jasa Marga predicts that on the peak days of Eid al-Fitr travel, specifically on H-4 or Saturday, April 6, 2024, there will be 259 thousand vehicles leaving Jakarta, an increase of 0.03% compared to Eid al-Fitr in 2023, and an increase of 66.8% compared to normal days. Meanwhile, the prediction for the peak days of return travel, on H+4 or Monday, April 15, 2024, estimates 300 thousand vehicles returning to Jakarta, an increase of 13.2% compared to Eid al-Fitr in 2023, or an increase of 131% compared to normal days.
"Based on this data, the toll tariff discount will be provided outside the predicted peak days of Eid al-Fitr travel to ensure smooth traffic distribution," said Lisye.
The toll tariff discount will be applicable from the Cikampek Main Toll Gate on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road to the Kalikangkung Toll Gate on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road during the outbound travel period and vice versa during the return travel period.
With the potential increase in community mobility during this year's Eid al-Fitr travel, Lisye also hopes that the toll tariff discount will attract interest and serve as a reference for people with more flexible schedules to plan their outbound trips earlier and their return trips later to take advantage of the toll discount.
The technical implementation of the toll tariff discount is applicable to all vehicle categories and only for vehicles originating from the Cikampek Main Toll Gate and transacting at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road during the outbound travel period, from Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 05:00 AM to Friday, April 5, 2024, at 05:00 AM.
Meanwhile, for the return travel period, the toll tariff discount is only applicable to vehicles originating from the Kalikangkung Toll Gate on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road and transacting at the Cikampek Main Toll Gate on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road from Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 05:00 AM, to Friday, April 19, 2024, at 05:00 AM.
"We remind road users that this toll discount is only applicable for electronic toll payment. Therefore, we encourage road users to ensure their readiness before traveling, including ensuring sufficient electronic toll balance and fuel, as well as ensuring the optimal condition of their vehicles and drivers," added Lisye.
