TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – On the inaugural day of departure, marking Monday,(20/5/2024) the vibrant city of Madinah witnessed the commencement of a significant pilgrimage journey. A conglomerate of eight groups, comprising a grand total of 3,400 devout pilgrims for Hajj 2024, embarked on their sacred expedition, leaving behind the serene ambiance of Madinah to tread the path of spiritual fulfillment.

Before venturing forth on their pilgrimage, pilgrims adhered to the customary miqat ritual at Masjid Dzilhulaifah, also recognized as Bir Ali. Spearheading the preparations for this pivotal moment was Aziz Hegemor, the esteemed Head of the Bir Ali Sector within the Madinah Work Area. Aziz elaborated on the meticulous planning and coordination orchestrated by the sector to facilitate a seamless departure process.

Central to the operational strategy were five strategically positioned service points, strategically positioned to cater to the pilgrims' needs during the miqat ritual at Bir Ali. These service points encompassed various areas, including the mosque's entrances, both front and rear, as well as the peripheries and interior spaces. This organizational framework ensured that pilgrims received comprehensive assistance and guidance as they embarked on their spiritual journey.

Within the sanctified confines of Masjid Bir Ali, pilgrims engaged in the performance of the sunah prayer, accompanied by the solemn declaration of their intention for the obligatory umrah. Aziz Hegemor underscored the pivotal role of group leaders, emphasizing the imperative for meticulous preparation, particularly regarding the pilgrims' attire.

It was imperative that all pilgrims, under the guidance of their respective group leaders, adorned themselves in the sacred garments of ihram before departing from their lodgings in Madinah. Notably, male pilgrims were expressly instructed to refrain from wearing stitched garments from the outset of their pilgrimage.

Upon reaching the revered precincts of Bir Ali, dedicated staff members guided pilgrims as they disembarked from their transport and proceeded to the mosque to perform their prayers. To accommodate the needs of elderly and infirm pilgrims, provisions were made for them to conduct their devotions within the confines of their transport vehicles.

This thoughtful measure aimed to safeguard their well-being and comfort throughout the arduous journey, affirming the overarching commitment to ensuring the safety and sanctity of the pilgrimage experience.
