TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – The Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) under the leadership of KH Yahya Cholil Staquf is undergoing a major transformation to make NU a more modern and efficient organization. During the NU Plenary Meeting at the Bidakara Hotel, South Jakarta, on July 27-28, 2024, Gus Yahya explained the main strategies that will bring NU into a new era called Digdaya NU.

1. Organizational Structure Like a Government
Gus Yahya revealed the vision to build NU's organizational structure to function like a government. "We want to build a jam'iyyah structure that functions like a government, with the board structure as the government and the congregation as its citizens," said Gus Yahya. This vision aims to increase the efficiency and responsiveness of the organization to the needs of the community.
2. Systematic and Strategic Agenda
NU transformation requires a systematic and strategic agenda. Gus Yahya emphasized that these agendas must reflect logical strategies to address universal problems faced by Indonesian society and the world. "The agendas must be systematic, not chaotic, and must reflect strategies to tackle universal problems," he explained.
3. Structured and Coherent Management
A structured and coherent management system is an important component in NU transformation. To achieve solid management, competency assessments are needed for NU cadres responsible for bodies or institutions under PBNU.
"Solid and structured management is very necessary to ensure that every program and activity runs well and according to its purpose," added Gus Yahya.
4. National Leadership Academy (AKN)
As part of high-level cadre training and development, NU has prepared the National Leadership Academy (AKN). AKN aims to train NU cadres with strong leadership skills. "Alhamdulillah, we have completed the outlines for the highest-level cadre training, the National Leadership Academy (AKN) NU," said Gus Yahya.
5. Digital Transformation through Digdaya NU
Digital transformation is one of the main pillars in NU's strategy towards Digdaya NU. Through the NU Digdaya initiative (Digitalization of Data and Services), NU strives to manage the organization digitally, making all organizational affairs accessible online.
"We have completed this digital design, which we will continue to build into the NU digital universe. So later, all NU members' affairs will be here. Alhamdulillah, the basic design is ready," explained Gus Yahya.
By implementing these five strategic components, PBNU hopes to bring significant changes in organizational governance, making it more efficient and responsive to the needs of the community. This transformation is expected to face future challenges and make a real contribution to the progress of Indonesian society and the world.
