Gege's Entry into the FnB Business
Gege's entrepreneurial journey began when he joined the Akademi Wirausaha Mahasiswa Merdeka (AWMM) campus program. Along with a friend, he decided to start a business selling noodles, which they produced in a boarding house kitchen.
Their first venture, Bakmi Hokki, was sold via a pre-order system. Despite slow initial sales, Gege's persistence in creating marketing content eventually paid off. His content began gaining attention, fueling further interest in their product.
As the brand gained momentum, investors became interested, and Gege and his friend had the opportunity to open a physical store. However, internal challenges led Gege to part ways with the initial venture, prompting him to start his own brand, Tjahaja Baroe, which has now been running successfully for over a year.
Gege’s strategy evolved over time, and he began collaborating with prominent local figures such as content creator Roofi Mahaciwa. Together, they launched the viral Es Teler Sempat Sayang brand.
Though Gege understood the product's fleeting popularity, he prepared for the future by continuously developing new brands such as Ayam Gohyong Legend and Sweettato Ubi Creme Brule.
Overcoming Obstacles
Gege's business journey hasn’t been without challenges. His early ventures faced significant operational and management issues, leading to unexpected losses despite high sales. Inexperience and poor handling of marketing and product quality also hampered their progress.
The path wasn't any easier with *Tjahaja Baroe*, which narrowly avoided disaster when the kitchen nearly caught fire twice. Gege also faced employee fraud in the *Es Teler* business, resulting in a substantial loss of IDR 15 million. However, his faith and determination helped him navigate these difficulties, and he credits Allah for his resilience and success.
Gege’s Strategies for Business Success
Gege's ability to persevere through setbacks is rooted in his belief that everything happens for a reason. He attributes his success to divine intervention and strong partnerships. His partners’ strengths in operations have been key to ensuring the business survives even the toughest challenges.
Additionally, Gege emphasizes the importance of learning from mistakes and staying focused on growth. His strategy of diversifying his business through new brands, while staying adaptable, has kept his entrepreneurial journey vibrant.
Gege’s Message for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
Gege's advice to young entrepreneurs is simple but profound: "Enjoy the process, even when faced with challenges. Trials are a part of the journey, and they will make you stronger. Stay focused, keep faith, and remember that success comes from Allah. If you're at the top, always stay humble."
This mindset has enabled Raihan Gany to thrive despite the ups and downs of business, making him an inspiring role model for those looking to carve out their own path to success as young entrepreneur. (*)
