This humanitarian mission was not just about providing material assistance but also about fostering a sense of solidarity and hope. The initiative, carried out from March 2 to March 9, 2025.
It focused on distributing iftar meals, winter supplies, and financial aid to Palestinian refugees. It was dstributed to four out of the thirteen refugee camps in the Amman region.
The effort was made possible through generous donations collected by PPI Turki members from their networks, including friends, family, and social media followers. Within a short period, they successfully raised substantial funds, which were used to ensure that the aid reached those most in need.
Rais Aqmaril, one of the key initiators, emphasized the importance of this mission. "We want to show that despite being far from home, we can still extend our hands to those in need. Ramadan is a time of sharing, and we hope our small effort brings a glimmer of hope to these children," he said.
Another dedicated volunteer, Haritsah Mujahid, shared his experience of meeting the children in the camps.
"Their smiles while receiving their iftar meals and participating in games were truly heartwarming. It was a humbling experience that reminded us of the strength and resilience these children carry despite their struggles," he uttered.
PPI Turki extended their gratitude to all donors and partner organizations, including Islamic Kindly, DT Peduli, MT Annisa Istanbul, and Tim Peduli in Amman. Their collective efforts ensured that aid was delivered effectively and that the children experienced moments of happiness during Ramadan.
Looking ahead, PPI Turki is committed to continuing its humanitarian programs. They aim to inspire more Indonesian students abroad to take part in charitable activities, strengthening the global spirit of empathy and compassion.
Through their dedication, they hope to keep making a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need. Beyond immediate relief, the students also encouraged educational initiatives for refugee children, believing that knowledge is the key to a better future.
In addition to distributing aid, they organized storytelling sessions and informal learning activities to nurture creativity and inspire hope in young minds. By engaging in these interactions, they sought to bring moments of normalcy and joy into the children's lives.
PPI Turki also plans to build long-term partnerships with humanitarian organizations to sustain their efforts beyond Ramadan. By fostering deeper collaboration, they hope to provide continuous support for refugee children, not only in Jordan but also in other regions where aid is needed.
PPI Turki's vision is to create a culture of giving that extends beyond temporary charity, ensuring that those in need receive ongoing support and opportunities for a brighter future.
