TIMESINDONESIA, BANYUWANGI – Starting July 23, 2025, a high speed boat route connecting Banyuwangi and Denpasar officially began operations. The route is served by the Express Bahari 9E vessel, which offers a shorter and more efficient travel alternative between Java and Bali.

Departure Schedule and Route

The boat departs from Marina Boom, Banyuwangi at 09:00 WIB and arrives at Serangan Port, Denpasar at 11:30 WITA. Meanwhile, the return trip from Denpasar to Banyuwangi is scheduled at 14:00 WITA and arrives around 15:30 WIB.

The high speed boat operates six days a week, from Wednesday to Monday. Tuesday is reserved for routine maintenance of the vessel.

Ticket Prices and Facilities

There are two available ticket classes for passengers: Executive and VVIP. The Executive class is priced at Rp 225,000 while VVIP costs Rp 275,000 per passenger. Each passenger is allowed to bring baggage weighing up to 20 kg.

The vessel is equipped with air conditioning, reclining seats, and other comfortable facilities. This wll make the passengers feel more comfortable during the trip.

Parking and Access

For travelers who bring their own vehicles to the port, parking is available at Marina Boom. The daily parking fee is Rp 5,000 per vehicle. This option adds convenience for those who do not wish to leave their vehicles unattended elsewhere. The location of the port is also considered strategic and easy to access.

Ticket Booking Process

Tickets can be booked through the Express Bahari application, available on both the App Store and Play Store. Users must register, choose their departure and arrival ports, input travel dates, and select the preferred class. Payments can be made via virtual accounts, e-wallets, QRIS, or credit cards. Once payment is confirmed, users will receive an e-ticket through the app.

Strategic Impact on Local Tourism

This new service is expected to boost tourism in both Banyuwangi and Bali. It creates a faster and more attractive alternative for domestic and international tourists. Local businesses near the ports are also projected to benefit from increased traffic. Officials hope this route will become a long-term transportation solution.

Stakeholder Collaboration

The success of this program involved coordination between Banyuwangi Regency, Bali Province, Express Bahari, and the port authorities. All stakeholders worked together to ensure the schedule, safety, and comfort of passengers. Trial runs and evaluations were conducted before the official launch. The government continues to monitor its performance closely.

Future Expectations

If demand continues to rise, additional departure times may be added in the future. The presence of this high speed boat opens a new chapter in efficient inter-island travel. It also reduces pressure on traditional ferry routes via Ketapang and Gilimanuk. Authorities remain optimistic about its long-term sustainability. (*)
