
TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Office (BB TNBTS) has completely closed tourist access to the Bromo Mountain area in East Java for area cleaning.
Septi Eka Wardhani, Head of Administration at BB TNBTS in Malang, East Java, stated on Monday that the closure of the Bromo area would occur twice in April 2024.

"The closure is for the cleaning of the Bromo area," said Septi.
Septi explained that the first closure would take place from April 4 at 00:01 AM until April 5, 2024, at 11:59 PM. The second closure would be from April 25 at 00:01 AM until April 26, 2024, at 11:59 PM.
The closure of the Bromo Mountain tourist area, she added, was stipulated in letter Number: PG.3/T.8/BIDTEK/KSA.5.1/B/03/2024. The closure for the area cleaning was agreed upon during a coordination meeting with stakeholders.
"The closure is based on a mutual agreement during a coordination meeting held on March 28, 2024," she said.
She further added that the closure of tourist access to Bromo Mountain from the Probolinggo Regency area would be from the Cemorolawang entrance. Meanwhile, from the Pasuruan Regency direction, access would be closed from the Dingklik area.
"The entrance from the Malang Regency and Lumajang Regency direction will be closed at the Jemplang area," she said.
The cleaning activities in the area, she continued, would involve personnel from BB TNBTS as well as other area management partners such as local communities, off-road vehicle communities, street vendors, and others.
"In addition to our personnel, we also involve partners such as local communities, off-road vehicle communities, street vendors, and others," she said.
According to records from BB TNBTS, the number of tourist visits to one of the main tourist destinations in East Java throughout 2023 reached 368,507 people, consisting of domestic and international tourists.
This figure comprised 355,297 domestic tourists and 13,210 international tourists. These visits also generated Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) amounting to Rp14.70 billion. (*)
